In honor of one of my beats playing played on an online radio show out in New Zealand, I thought I'd celebrate with the release of this shelved EP I created a while back.

"Roots" was inherently named after my ode to its foundation: old school hip hop and classical music. Old school music is the obvious one here, but since I was also trying to create the original sound of hip hop with these beats, I thought I'd use the original form of music - classical - to accomplish this.

After a while, my interest in crafting old school hip hop beats dwindled as it was not my style so I could only go so long branching out like this. Nonetheless, I feel the seven beats that came out of this experiment are worthy of hungry ears. Plus I like the album cover - PEACE!
